Sep 14, 2019 London Ontario Airshow London International Airport Largest military display in Canada. Photograph planes in flight and on the ground, parachute teams and fans.  General admission ticket price is $35 (seniors $25) advance sale and $50 (seniors $35) at the door.   Other pricing tiers available.

2019 London air show

There is no parking at the airport.  Free off-site parking and free shuttle buses will be provided by the organizer.  Car pools can be arranged at a later date.

Oct 6, 2019 Birds in Flight Photography Session Canadian Raptor Conservancy, Vitoria, Ontario This is a 3 hour session to photograph birds of prey in flight and on perches.  This event is limited to 10 people.  Cost is $56.50 per person.  Fees must be paid in advance and no refund will be issued if you cannot make it.   Pat will be announcing the date of this outing approximately 6 weeks in advance. 9 am to noon. Christmas Lights at Glenhyrst Art Gallery 20 Ava Rd, Brantford, ON Glenhyrst Art Gallery in running the Christmas Lights Display from Nov 29, 2019 to Jan 1, 2020 from 6-9 pm.  The 16 acre park is transformed into a winter wonderland and is a great setting for photographing Christmas lights and night photography.  

Admission to the gallery and the grounds is free although donations are appreciated. Collection bins are also available for Brantford Food Bank and Salvation Army Food Bank donations.

4:45 pm at parking lot of Treasure Hunt (old Sears Home Centre) on 1035 Plains Rd E, Burlington if you are offering a ride or need a ride. Orchid Fung

Jan 25, 2020 Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory Cambridge, Ontario

 

The Butterfly Conservatory is a 10,800 square foot indoor tropical garden featuring 1,000’s of free flying butterflies from all over the world, over 100 different varieties of tropical plants, waterfalls, streams, reflecting pools, tropical finches, Chinese painted quails and red-eared slider turtles.

Come out and take some pictures and enjoy the warmth of the conservatory.

Details:

Admission is $15 (plus HST) for adults, $12.50 (plus HST) for seniors.  Tickets can be purchased on site in the gift shop or online.

Monopods are allowed but tripods are not.

Flash photography is allowed.

It is very warm and humid in the conservatory.  It is a good idea to dress in layers. There are coat racks if you would like to use them.

There is a cafe on site if you would like to have lunch or a beverage after the event.

Plenty of free parking.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition

 

Royal Ontario Museum,

Toronto

We will travel by GO train and subway to the Museum Station to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition at ROM.  Detail of the outing has been sent via email to all Trillium members.  More details can be found here. 9 am – 1 pm Orchid Fung

Mar 22, 2020 Toronto TTC Subway Photography Toronto, On  This outing focuses on photographing architectural and details of subway corridors and walls.

Starting point will be at the Sheppard West station at 8 am.  We will travel north to the end of the line at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

There will be a limit of 12 photographers.  Tripods are permitted.  Cost will be GO train tickets and subway fees.  Parking fees will be required if you chose to drive.

Apr 26, 2020 27th Annual Paris to Ancaster Bike Race Paris, On The Paris to Ancaster Race has taken place for the past twenty six years over the roughest farm lanes, trails and gravel roads. Combined with unpredictable spring weather and the largest field of riders in Canada, it has become a classic race experience for everyone from average riders to Canadian Olympians.

This event is a great opportunity to photograph cyclists, actions, movements and fans.

Jordan area, Ontario Jim will be arranging us to visit several vineyards in the Jordan area. This will be followed by lunch in one of the restaurants nearby (optional).  More detail to follow.
