O3C Judging course

Members,
I received notice that another O3C judging course will be offered in the fall. We generally obtain our judges from the O3C list, although sometimes we do use CAPA-certified judges, and some judges are both O3C- and CAPA-certified. Here are the details:

The Council has received many inquiries regarding our New Judges Course. We are once again offering the training on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

The full-day interactive course (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) will be conducted online via Zoom and will involve training on the O3C Scoring Model and practice sessions on its application.

Registration is available now – https://o3c.ca/judges/ and will close on October 25th to allow time for the mailing of our printed handbook to registrants prior to the course date. Enrollment is limited to 25 people. The fee is $110 for O3C members.

There are two reasons why you might sign up for this course:

  1. For your own education, to better understand the judging process, with the intent of improving your skills as a photographer, but not necessarily wishing to become a judge. We will be glad to have you participate.
  2. In addition to self-improvement, you also wish to enter the Judge in Training (JIT) program. If this is the case, it is important that you are aware of the requirements for entering the O3C JIT program…

[Note: you can only enter their JIT program upon approval by the Club’s executive.]

We look forward to seeing you on November 16th.

John Allman

O3C Judge Chair
