Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate photographer or an experienced photographer, joining a photography club is one of the best ways to improve your skills. The club can also be a good venue for meeting people who share the same interest as yours. You will not only form new friendships, you’ll also have fun while learning new things about a craft that you love.

Trillium’s aim is to promote the enjoyment of photography by providing the venue for photographers to meet and exchange ideas and information. In addition to regular club meetings with speakers, clinics and photographic exhibitions, there are opportunities for outings and social gatherings. We offer weekly general meetings from September to May, and interest group meetings and outings throughout that period. Some of our special interest groups are, for example, in the areas of equipment, editing techniques, bird photography, night and low-light photography, street photography, and flash photography.

In the words of one of our members, “Trillium provides very stimulating formal and informal learning opportunities re. conceptual and practical aspects of many types of photography. Presentations and help from other members are extremely valuable. And the enthusiasm is contagious!”

We hone our skills through competitions, which we call “clinics”. Trillium is a member of the Ontario Council of Camera Clubs (OCCC) and the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA), and we also participate in their competitions as a club and individually.
