Randy Nickerson is an award-winning photographer, producer, educator and media creator from Oshawa whose passion for storytelling has made him a respected figure in Ontario’s photography community.
Holding the prestigious A.F.I.A.P. distinction from the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique, Randy has spent decades behind the camera capturing everything from sports and live events to portraits, architecture and community stories. His photography and writing have been featured in Our Canada, Durham Sports Tourism, and for more than 20 years in local publications including snapd and The Local Buzz.
Known for blending strong technical skill with an approachable style, Randy has built a reputation for creating images and stories that connect with audiences on a personal level.
Beyond his creative work, Randy is a driving force in the photographic community. He has served in numerous leadership roles with the Oshawa Camera Club, including President, Vice President, Competition Director and Community Liaison, and currently serves as Judges Chair for the Ontario Council of Camera Clubs. Randy is also the creator and host of The Photographer’s Podcast and Durham City Lights, media projects that spotlight photographers, artists and musicians from across the region.
